Dena is the Director of Special Projects and Editor for The Baltimore Times newspaper group. She is also the CEO of Supreme Vacations, a full-service travel company. Ms. Wane is a world traveler and has been a consummate volunteer for several social organizations over the years.
Disturbed by the disintegrating family and the disruptions in the lives of children, Ms. Wane has been motivated to dedicate and commit her time to the advancement and well-being of underprivileged, disadvantaged, and underserved women and children. She has accomplished this through her service to several national and international non-profit organizations on a voluntary basis. Having served as the Coordinator of Overseas Cultural Affairs for F.O.O.D. (Friends Organized for Overseas Development), she had the opportunity to participate in the development of a training program for native women and children in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. In 1995, she traveled to China to attend the Fourth World Conference on Women, representing W.O.R.L.D. (Women Organized Resources for Liberia’s Development, Inc.), an international organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of women and children in developing countries in West Africa. Through these and other associations, she has gained a wealth of experience in the advocacy of women and children.
Ms. Wane serves on the Board of Directors as Finance Chair for FBI Baltimore Citizens Academy Alumni Association, a 501(c)3 organization separate and apart from the FBI that supports and serves the Community Outreach Initiatives of the FBI through education; public awareness campaigns; and preparedness to provide for a safer community. Ms. Wane has strong organizational and management skills, extensive experience in communication with diverse populations and a strong commitment to teamwork.
