Clinical Supervisor

Please join me in welcoming La, Shawn Richards. LaShawn is a senior graduate student at Coppin State University, where she is pursuing her degree in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Rehabilitation Program with an impressive cumulative GPA of 3.82. She is a distinguished member of both the Chi Sigma Iota and Psi Chi Honor Societies, which reflects her unwavering commitment to academic excellence and professional growth.

In her role as a Clinical Supervisor in Addictions, LaShawn works diligently to support individuals facing challenges related to addictive behaviors and substance abuse, and she is in good standing with the Board of Therapist and Professional Counselors. Alongside her clinical expertise, La brings a robust background in public safety as a certified fingerprint technician through CJIS, with valuable experience in parole and probation. She has also contributed significantly to Baltimore’s Mayor’s initiative on crime prevention and public safety, and she served as a Coordinator for Baltimore’s Behavioral Health Services in the BBI program in collaboration with Maryland Treatment Centers.

LaShawn’s passion lies in advocating for those struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. She is dedicated to fostering prevention, building collaborative partnerships with professional services and community resources, and promoting overall wellness—especially within disenfranchised communities.
