Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Training

Strengthening our community through respectful, person-centered, and culturally responsive care.

Staff Orientation

Why This Training Matters

People come from different backgrounds and experiences. Recovery support must recognize cultural, social, and economic realities to truly serve every person with dignity.

The Three Pillars of DEI

🌍

Diversity

The presence of differences within a group — including race, culture, age, life experience, gender identity, ability, and socioeconomic background.

⚖️

Equity

Fairness in access to opportunities and services. Different people may need different supports to achieve similar outcomes. Equity recognizes that one size does not fit all.

🤝

Inclusion

Creating environments where every person feels welcomed, respected, valued, and able to participate fully — regardless of background or circumstance.

Barriers Individuals May Face

Understanding these barriers helps us meet people where they are and build services that truly serve everyone.

  • Stigma associated with recovery
  • Economic hardship
  • Housing instability
  • Cultural misunderstanding
  • Language barriers

Recovery is not a single path. It looks different for every person who walks it.
